German PFAFF introduces AI-powered creative icon 2 sewing machine
The PFAFF 2 creative icon will be available after March 22, 2022.
Advanced PFAFF creative icon 2 technology helps the sewer achieve precise stitches (including embroidery) even when using the most difficult threads. Built-in sensors measure fabric thickness to regulate the amount of thread needed to achieve the perfect balance between needle and bobbin threads. The results are perfect on both sides of the fabric, the company said in a press release.
Germany-based PFAFF introduced the creative icon 2 sewing machine, which is designed with artificial intelligence (AI) to function and evolve in response to sewing. It includes voice and presser foot recognition, stitch prediction, hands-free controls, built-in sensors and a virtual sewing assistant active on the digital display.
Ultra-powerful lighting and 150 newtons (33.7 lbs) of piercing power combine with the baseplate to increase stability, reduce vibration and provide excellent visibility. With the built-in projector, camera and touch screen, designs can be seen before sewing, allowing instant help with placing a design.
“The features and technological advancements of creative icon 2 defy imagination. It is the world’s first and only voice-controlled sewing machine with voice recognition. Hands-free controls give sewers more flexibility, creativity and time savings. The machine is able to work alongside the seamstress and the large interactive display acts as a virtual assistant, personalizing and assisting throughout the project. The artificial intelligence capabilities are an amazing technological feat combined with honoring the craft’s history,” Dean Brindle, CMO, Global SVP, at PFAFF parent companynoted.
The Creative Embellishment Tool allows the sewer to embroider ribbon, beads, cord or cord directly and precisely onto fabrics while the tool guides the material into place. The multi-function foot control gives the user control of a project by using the seamstress’ feet to activate different machine-like functions of thread trimming or reversing.
