Beginning of knitting, sewing and serger classes to be offered

Sewing, knitting and serger classes for beginners are offered by Lewis County Clothing and Textile Advisors.

The Adult Sewing Class will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 26 at Centralia Community Church, 3320 Borst Ave., Centralia.

Students may bring their own working sewing machine and manual. Those without a sewing machine can borrow one for the day. Bring a lunch bag.

The cost is $25.

The knitting class will consist of four sessions, which will take place on all four Monday evenings in April at the Ewe and I Yarn Boutique, 566 N. Market Blvd., Chehalis.

A knitted and felted handbag will be the project. In the fourth session, participants will learn how to sew a lining with pockets for the handbag. This handbag project can be seen at the Ewe and I exhibition.

The cost for all four courses is $40.

The Beginner Serger Class will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 23 at Waylon Quilt Works, 404 S. Tower Ave., Centralia.

The cost for the serger class is $25. Attendees are invited to bring their serger in good working order with the manual and accessories.

Lewis County Clothing and Textile Advisors has been teaching sewing, knitting and other needle arts to adults and youth in Lewis County for over 29 years.
