The Traveling Exhibits

The association first developed a traveling quilt exhibit in conjunction with its biennial Quilt Show. Members representing the geographic diversity of the region were invited to submit a quilt interpreting the selected theme. Quilts were introduced at one show, spent the next two years being exhibited across the country and were auctioned off during the next Gala Dinner & Auction, held during the next Quilt Show. APWQ's traveling exhibits serve as both fundraisers for the organization and a realization of our mission--to promote the art of quiltmaking in our region and beyond.
Since their inception, these inspired collections have traveled the country and, through the generosity of the quiltmakers who donated their works, have earned more than $135,000 at auction. Upcoming exhibits are currently being scheduled for venues and will debut at the upcoming Pacific West Quilt Show in 2011. Please click on the links below for more information.

Traveling Schedule

The Association of Pacific West Quilters is proud to present our seventh traveling exhibit. The exhibit highlights the imaginative potential of the quilt as an art medium, while being inspired by the Living Colour theme. The quilts will spend two years traveling the country, showing off the talents of Pacific Northwest and Canadian quilters at major quilt shows and museums. They will be auctioned at the Gala Dinner & Auction in 2011.
