In 1990, Elizabeth began quilting after years of knitting, crocheting, gardening and clothing construction. A sewing friend presented her with a rotary cutter, a bag of calico scraps and yet another enthusiastic quilter was born! Her passion is machine quilting, silk dupioni wholecloth quilts and machine appliqué.
Elizabeth is active in several quilting groups and organizations. In 2002, she attended the Northern California Quilt Council Judges Training and in 2006 completed the program requirements to be designated a National Quilting Association Certified Quilt Judge. She served as the NQA Grant Coordinator for 2007-2008 and as an APNQ Director for 2006-2008. Currently she is a National Artisan for Bernina and a member of Clark County Quilters in Vancouver, WA.
Beginning with the first APNQ Quilt Show in 1994, she has volunteered for jobs such as Ticket Taker Supervisor, Silent Auction co-chair, Gala crew, Takedown, Hostessing and most recently as the Jurying and Judging Coordinator for the 2008 show.
Elizabeth brings her experience, skills and enthusiasm as a quilt teacher, judge, competition quiltmaker and all around quilt lover to APWQ. Together with the Board of Directors and a great group of dedicated volunteers, she is excited about continuing the tradition of producing a world-class quilt show in the Puget Sound region!
