TWENTY-FIVE AT 25 - Contemporary QuiltArt Association
Twenty-five years ago, quilt artist Lorraine Torrence, presented a series of lectures in Seattle.  At the time none of the participants imagined this would be the birth of a nationally recognized organization of professional artists. Today the Contemporary QuiltArt Association (CQA), with a membership of more than 120, is acknowledged as one of the strongest and most dynamic art quilt groups in the United States. Our declared mission then, and still today, is to sponsor and promote professional endeavors of artists working in the quilt medium and to educate the public about this art form. This juried exhibit highlights the work of 25 members of CQA. Always willing to push boundaries, you will see a range of work that blurs the lines between art and craft.  Through a monthly showcase of work at meetings, classes, small groups, and individual experimentation CQA members continue to forge new directions in quilting. This exhibition represents a sampling of work intended to inspire and delight the viewer.

Knotted, Dyed, Tied, and Stitched - Columbia FiberArts Guild
This juried exhibit features a spectrum of original two and three-dimensional fiber art created by members of the Columbia FiberArts Guild. The Columbia FiberArts Guild is a group of artists from Oregon and Southwest Washington who work in a variety of art forms. Quilting, weaving, surface design, mixed media, felting, and jewelry making are just some of them. As its goals, the Guild sets and maintains high standards of design and workmanship, educates members and the public in fiber techniques, and stimulates interest in fiber art in the community at large.
